Drilling holes for carbon fiber is always a challenge. We use precision tools to guarantee hole placement accuracy, but there is always the risk of fiber blowout or other structural damage. We are experts in machining carbon fiber in a fully qualified process to machine carbon fiber parts with air cooling, and holes are smoothy and not defective. We use ultrasonic cleaning after machining to remove carbon fiber dust or dirt. While not appropriate for all programs, it can be a cost-effective way to meet program requirements where fiber blowout is a concern.
Sanding is a highly efficient way to remove carbon fiber surface defects and keep smoothies. Usually, we use a sanding machine to polish tubings and manually polish carbon fiber parts.
